- [Instructor] Maintaining your server also has to do with making sure that malware is not going to get onto it. Now there's already Windows Defender, which is an anti-malware program, but what if we could keep malware from ever even reaching our server from our users. And File Server Resource Manager is one of those tools. So here we are on Add Roles and Features. We're going to go to File and Storage Services and choose File Server Resource Manager, click Add Features, Next and Install. File Server Resource Manager can block files by extensions. So you can say you don't want specific types of files that could cause malware or other issues on your server from your shared folders. So for instance, if someone's connecting to a file server remotely and they're uploading files, we don't want them to upload executables or batch files, anything that could cause a virus to be created.
