Event Viewer for troubleshooting
- [Instructor] Event logs can help us monitor and maintain our service in so many ways. And we can get there going to many different areas, but the easiest way that I've found is to go to Tools and Event Viewer in Server Manager. We also saw that in the Microsoft Management Console as well as Computer Management. Now, under the Event Viewer, I'm going to start with Custom Views. Now, Custom Views is going to show me any types of roles and services that have their own log files within them. So for instance, we've got Remote Desktop Services installed. If you had other services like DNS, DHCP, then you could also look at Windows logs that show up for those services as well. So we scroll through here, you can take a look and see, most of this is informational, so that's great. That means that there's probably not a lot of issues. The next area is going to be the Windows Logs. Now, take a look at Application, and Application's going to tell us if there's any issues with any applications…
