- [Instructor] Let's take a look at some of the DISC tools we can use to manage our Windows server. I'm going to right click on my C Drive and File Explorer and I'll go to Properties and there's a tab there called Tools. Now there's multiple different ways to get to these tools, but this is a quick, easy way to do so. Starting from the bottom, we have the option to backup up our drive, but of course we have to have a backup drive ready to go. And Windows server backup is really a better way to do this because it gives you a lot more options. Then we have the option here to optimize and defragment the drive. Now this only works if you have a standard hard disc drive, such as a 7,200 RPM type of hard disc drive, or a 10,000 or 15,000 SaaS drive. If you're using an SSD drive, you do not want to run any type of defragmentation because you could damage the drives. Let's just take a quick look by analyzing how fragmented the drive actually is.
