Optimize your LinkedIn posting schedule for max engagement
- One of the simplest ways to grow your community and your impact on LinkedIn is to show up super consistently. And that starts with knowing when to post and how often to post. Let's think when first. Take a second to understand when you think your target audience might be online. If you're speaking to corporate professionals, weekday mornings is usually a pretty good bet. But take me for example, I'm based in London, and my network is mostly in Europe and the US. So that means UK afternoons work really well for my content, because that's when I've got people online on both continents in my network. But don't be afraid to experiment with this. Like you can try different times, see what works for you, see what works for your audience. Now let's think about how often. Aim for at least once a week. But posting a few times a week is even better. Either way, consistency week over week is gonna be the key piece. Also, there's really no need to post more than once a day. I feel like people think more content is better, but that's not the case. Posting twice in the same window can cause your content to compete with itself, and that can dilute its impact for you and also for your audience. But you don't need to take this all from me. I've asked my friend John Amaechi, founder of APS Intelligence, to share more about how he crafts his own posting schedule. How often are you sharing content on LinkedIn? - So we post probably three times a week, some kind of video content, and then a couple of times a week for some kind of longer form content. 'Cause that seems to be a good balance for us. - And do you have a strategy for what time of day you tend to post? - We know that weekday mornings are pretty good for me and that Sunday evenings are also good for me. People who are checking their socials, who are reengaging their work brain on a Sunday evening, not fully like they don't want to be doing their emails, but they do want to catch up and see what's going on. So Sunday evenings and then workday mornings are the best. - How did you come to that cadence? Was that trial and error? Is that just what you found the most engagement with? - Mostly error, mostly error. It's mostly the we try stuff and we thought this is really compelling content and it didn't land like we thought it would. And what we found is that we've just gotta find the right mix of what needs to be long form, what topics are best in long form, what topics are best in a more conversational video, and then find the cadence that works best that I don't think there's a magic formula for it. - Next up, we're gonna talk about an underutilized tool that can help you discover trending topics in your area and grow your voice on platform.
