Element 2: Deliver value in your LinkedIn content
- I wanna chat about the main section of your post. The key to a main section of any content on LinkedIn is delivering value in a really authentic way to you. And to help you get the hang of this, I always ask a couple of questions as I create. Number one, how is someone going to feel more productive or successful after engaging with my content? Or number two, and this one's my favorite, why would someone be interested in this post if they don't already know me or my work already? As you're creating, make sure you're focusing on what's authentic to you and reflects what you're actually qualified to speak about. This is now more important than ever because with tools we have available, anyone can create content very quickly that makes 'em sound like an expert when they're not. But that's not going to help your audience really level up their skills and become more productive or successful. And on that note, I wanna chat about AI tools actually directly. They're great to help you organize your ideas and improve your draft, absolutely. That's how I'm using them. But just remember that your content needs to sound like you. That's how you're gonna build trust and credibility with your audience over time, and that's what's gonna keep them coming back to you for more. I wanna leave you also with a couple of tactical tips for your LinkedIn posts' main section. If your topic feels really long or complex, I would say break it up into a series of posts or focus on the formatting to make sure the idea is easy to follow. And back up any points you're making with examples or data as much as you can. And of course then if you're using any reference to someone else's content or words, cite your sources. Like I wanna get a T-shirt that says, "Cite your sources." No matter what you're creating, keep it helpful and keep it authentic to your professional experience. That is absolutely gonna make your post stand out.
