Managing VMware virtual machine hardware
- In the virtual machines that you are using, occasionally, you will need to manage hardware settings as well. One of the most important settings is to manage the current state of your applicable hardware, like the optical disk. So you can access it by using the icons in top of this VMware Fusion menu. It's also in the virtual machine menu. As you can see in the virtual machine menu, there's options for the network adapter, the hard disk, the CD, DVD and so on. This is exactly the same type of option. Now, one common thing that you will need to do occasionally, is to disconnect CD, DVD and to reconnect new CD or DVD, because if you want to connect an ISO to your virtual machine, and currently your installation disc is still in, it's not going to work. And also, you may find that you want to access your installation disc, but it's disconnected. So then it's easy. You use disconnect CD/DVD, and then you tell it that you want to override the lock, and it should be gone. As you can see…
