Getting data from your customers

- If you really want to understand your customer's journey you need to get into their world and empathize with what their experience is actually like. Thinking like a customer will help you know what to ask and how to probe deeper to get the best possible data from your study participants. Here are four ways to stand in the shoes of your customer. First, find out where they hang out online, see what they are talking about and start some conversations. For example, maybe your audience is new moms and they are hanging out in a Facebook group. Go into the group and in the search bar type in words like recommendations or help or looking for. This will pull up posts about common questions and challenges that they want help with. Next, pose questions to the community like, "what are the best swaddling products "you've tried to get your babies to go to sleep with?"
