Who in a company uses a style guide?

- The style guide exists to help anyone who's communicating with the rest of the world on behalf of your organization. That typically breaks down into three groups, agencies, freelancers, and internal content creators. If you hire agencies to create content for your site, run marketing campaigns, or produce print literature these agencies will use the style guide to get up to speed with your company's brand requirements and required tone of voice. The style guide is also a great way to reign in over enthusiastic agencies who want to change things up too much. While it's great when an agency challenges your preconceptions, for instance by creating an ad campaign that's edgier than you might typically accept, going against your core tenets is unlikely to work well.
