- There's another part to a design system that isn't always so apparent. That's the communication channels that get used to let people know when new versions of the system are available, and that allow people to ask questions, report bugs, and submit new components. A design system is a collaborative affair, so you need a way for people on product teams to get help, contribute, and feed information back. If you don't do this people will make decisions without central guidance. That means they could end up creating their own variations on the common elements, which loses the benefits of consistency. So, you'll need a submission system and a place to ask questions. Neither of these have to be hosted inside the design system, but they have to be readily available from within it.
