There's no substitute for usability testing
Once you've applied the new information architecture to all aspects of your site or application, be sure to usability test it. That will let you know whether you've created conceptual problems and whether people can find all the places where you expose the information architecture in the UI. Because part of the process involves your own interpretation, it's important to check how right you were by user testing and making tweaks as necessary. Remember, although you had user research as the basis of your information architecture, and although you did reverse sort to verify it, you're still responsible for creating the actual implementation of that information architecture on the site or in the product. You need to test the design assumptions that you made during that process.
