- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at some ways to change and edit materials in Unreal Engine. Now, this scene has a bunch of different materials. So let's go into Cabin Scene under Assets and then Materials, and you'll see we have a lot of different materials. Now, we're going to focus on this table here. So I'm going to go ahead and left-click on the table and hit F to frame it. And you'll see that we have a material here. Now, materials in Unreal Engine can take on two different flavors. Now, I'm in my Materials folder here, and you'll see at the bottom of each of these entries, you'll see that it is a material instance or a material. Now, a material is an original source. It has everything it needs to create that particular surface. A material instance is basically just a copy of a material with changes added.
