- Pinterest is both a search engine and a social media platform, so you need to optimize your content, both for search and for what people might see in their feed. What people do see when they search or in their feed is a combination of the keywords that a particular post has inside of it, but also what pins they have interacted with in the past. You want to try and make your pins interesting and intriguing so people are more likely to engage with it, and the more people who do engage with it, that sends signals to the Pinterest algorithm that your content is of high quality and that it should be served to more people.
