Managing procrastination when working from home
- Procrastination often gets a bad rap, but it's not all bad. It's just misunderstood. There's a big difference between negative procrastination where you keep delaying something you know needs to be done, and positive procrastination where you plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to tackle tasks thoughtfully. Most procrastination stems from emotions we're feeling like fear of how hard something might be, or discomfort about doing a task we don't enjoy. When working from home, these feelings are often amplified by distractions, family members needing your attention, pets interrupting you, or even the familiarity of household chores, and sometimes the comforts of home like your couch and TV can make staying focused harder than it needs to be.
