In this first video, we'll explore definitions of internal communication so we can all get on the same page about what it is before we move further into the course. By the end of this video, you'll have a clear understanding of what internal communication is all about and what purpose it serves inside organizations. Now, I regularly teach students about internal communication, and I love to ask them for their definition of what it means. Here's a flavor of some of the answers I tend to get. Internal communication is about sharing information with employees. Internal communication is about building a great culture. Internal communication is about motivating employees to do great work. They're quite different to each other, aren't they? There are so many different understandings of internal communication that it's really important that we explain it clearly here and come to a common understanding of what it's all about.
