(light music) - [Instructor] Have you ever been in a crowded stadium where your phone barely works? And the problem isn't just network congestion, it is how your signals are transmitted. Traditional antennas broadcast in all directions, wasting energy, but with antenna arrays, network can now focus signal like a spotlight. So how do we achieve this? We have the different group of multiple antenna elements, which can help to direct the signal into particular direction to improve its coverage. Now we have different components in this particular antenna arrays. We have, if we compare with the single antenna, which radiates signals uniformly in all directions like a light bulb. In case of antenna array, we combine signals from different arrays to form a focused beam like a flashlight, which can improve the coverage, enhance reduce the sidelobes, which can then further reduce the interference.
