(bright music) - [Instructor] Policy Control Function, PCF, is another key function in the 5G core network, which provides the framework for creating different policies which need to be consumed by the different network functions. Now, these policies can include certain aspects like quality of service or the subscriber spending, or maybe the usage monitoring, and this ensures that the user, what has been subscribed for, he or she will get those services. There are certain key responsibilities of the PCF, which includes the QoS and charging control. PCF interacts with application functions and the SMF to provide authorized quality of service and charging control for different service data flow. For example, if there are different users, one is watching the 8K video, it is authorized for the higher speed, or for example, 30 Mbps or 50 Mbps. In that case, the QoS will be defined by the PCF.
