(bright music) - [Instructor] Let's examine how a 5G device establishes its initial connection with the network. And this process forms the critical foundation for all the subsequent communication. Before the communication begins, the UI must first discover and synchronize with the network. And here, the very first message comes in the down link from the base station, which is 5G NR, to the user equipment, which is 5G UE, is the PSS and the SSS. So these synchronization signals, which is primary synchronization signal and secondary synchronization signals, it help user identify operator's central frequencies on which the 5G network is running. It provides timing synchronization. It is important to have the synchronization between the device and the network. It contains the physical cell ID information, also. It also has a broadcast channel, which carries essential information related to system. It includes master information block, which provides initial parameters for network access.…
