(light music) - [Instructor] Hi, let's understand the physical layer or the layer-1 in the 4G technology. Now any resource which is to be allocated in physical layer, that has to be allocated either in the frequency and the time domain. So the frequency domain here is the y-axis, the time domain is the x-axis. We have the OFDM symbols in the time domain, which we understood so far. We are considering here 1.4 megahertz, and accordingly, the subcarriers, we are considering here as an example. Now here, in the time domain, we have different subframes within one particular frame. So frame is of 10 millisecond. We have different tens of frames within that, each of one millisecond. Here, we are taking an example of the very first subframe, which is having 14 OFDM symbols here. We understood earlier that the primary and secondary synchronization signals are always located in FTD in the very first subframe. And along with that, we have the broadcast channel.
