Install R on a computer
- [Instructor] R, the analytical language we will integrate with Tableau in this course, is an open-source software package you can use for free. All you need to do is download it onto your computer and install it. In this movie, I will show you where to find the R distribution for Windows, and install it on my computer. I have opened the webpage at CRAN, cran.r-project.org. From here, you can download R for Windows, macOS, and various flavors of Linux. As the note on the page indicates, oftentimes, R is included in a Linux distribution, so you might not need to install it at all, it would already be there. But we will focus on Windows. To download and install R for Windows, click Download R for Windows, straightforward enough. But then, on the next page, you should click the base subdirectory. So that's listed here.
