It makes many different products besides Backup Exec, Veritas also makes NetBackup and many other products that are both backup related as well as other types of utilities. NetBackup is a higher end product and it was originally based on Unix and is more scalable for say data centers that run on non-Windows operating systems. It also costs more and supports more media devices that Backup Exec does not.
