Backup Exec
- [Instructor] Backup Exec is a third party application that's been around for quite a while. It's been owned by many different companies over the years. It makes many different products besides Backup Exec, Veritas also makes NetBackup and many other products that are both backup related as well as other types of utilities. NetBackup is a higher end product and it was originally based on Unix and is more scalable for say data centers that run on non-Windows operating systems. It also costs more and supports more media devices that Backup Exec does not. Backup Exec is good for most organizations, and it installs on Windows servers, and it can not only back up Windows and Linux servers and workstations, but it can also save that data both locally, as well as to the cloud.
