F-statistic and ANOVA hypothesis test example
- [Instructor] So far, we've been able to calculate our total sum of squares, SST 76, our sum of squares within, SSW 44, and our sum of squares between, SSB 32. We also found the relationship between these three values. SST is always equal to SSW plus SSB. The next and perhaps obvious question would be so, what can we do with this? Well, we can start to test our data set. From our small data set, it looks like Com Mobile is providing better service than it's competitors, and it looks like Air Mobile is providing the worst service. The question is, is it possible that these data values happened by chance? And that perhaps the services are equal. In other words, perhaps if the entire population of mobile service users, every user, if they all got to try all four companies, we would find that there really is not a difference between these companies.
