ANOVA: What is analysis of variance?

- Earlier in this course, we learned how to compare two different populations. For example, which group had better results? The group that took a new drug or the group that took a placebo? In this section, we'll cover analysis of variants often referred to as ANOVA. ANOVA will allow us to compare three or more populations. For example, suppose there are four different mobile service companies, Air Mobile, Binge Tech, ComMobile, Data Roam. Customers are asked to rank their mobile service from a scale of 1 to 10, one being very poor, 10 being excellent. Here's the individual survey data for four different customers for four different companies. For each company, you can see four customer scores as well as the mean of the score for each company's data set. ComMobile looks to have a pretty good rating.
