- [Instructor] Excel is perhaps the main tool used by financial analysts in the field. Much of the data these analysts have to work with come in the form of spreadsheets that are exported from various reporting systems. This means that when they have to manipulate and analyze that data, doing so directly in those spreadsheets rather than going to outside tools is often easier.
