- [Narrator] When it comes to adding a photographic depth of field effect to our renders, there are actually a couple of options available to us when rendering with V-Ray Next in SketchUp. So we could, for instance, render out a Zed or Z-depth pass using render elements, and then use that in a post production application such as Photoshop, in order to add depth of field after the fact as it were. If we find that we are needing to add more physically accurate depth of field effects to our renders though, we will probably want to make use of the V-Ray physical cameras built in depth of field functionality. Now whilst it used to be true that we needed to keep in mind all sorts of things when wanting to create a depth of field effect in V-Ray for SketchUp, such as the camera's compositional setup as well as the scene's lighting and exposure requirements.
