- [Instructor] In ServiceNow, a user is anyone who needs access to the platform to get work done. Users can be granted access to specific applications, modules, or data, and their permissions define what they can create, view, or modify. Users can also personalize their experience, like changing their preferred language or how information is displayed. Just like in any team organization, users can belong to one or more groups. A group is a collection of users who share a common function, like incident managers, change approvers, or service desk agents. Groups are managed through the assignment of roles, which help to manage multiple users effectively. Users can belong to multiple groups and groups can be organized into parent-child relationships. Roles are what defines permissions in ServiceNow. A role is essentially an access control label that determines what a user or group can read, write, or approve. Best practice?
