Using automation tools to sell small items

- Often after you've completed a sale, the prospect comes back for additional small items. I've worked in technology for most of my sales career so those items were cables, keyboards, mice, one or two extra licenses for their new software. And it's great that they're buying more but it wasn't really worth my time. These items are less than a hundred pounds each and I'm paid on commission of the profit earned on each, not even the revenue. So once we've taken a percentage of this and a percentage of that, the commission is so low, it's hardly worth it. My time is much better spent chasing the bigger fish, the new prospects who need large solutions. But as we've established retaining a customer is so valuable. They'll keep buying more from you and they may recommend you to their friends. So we can't neglect them. If they need a wire, they need a wire. If they need a keyboard, they need a keyboard.
