Highlight key achievements with featured content
- When you create or accomplish something you're proud of, it's natural to want to share your hard work with the world, right? That's where LinkedIn's Featured section comes in. It gives you the perfect spot to do just that. If you've had any media in your About section where your summary is featured, don't worry. It's automatically moved to the Featured space. The Featured section is your stage to showcase what sets you apart and highlight your expertise. Located right below your About section, it's the perfect place to share your best work. With Featured, you can spotlight posts you've written or shared, articles you've published, and even images, documents, videos, and links that truly showcase your impact. It's your chance to capture attention and let your work speak for itself. So how does it work? Let's check it out with one of my favorite LinkedIn profiles. Meet Mateo, a nurse working in pediatric cardiology. If we scroll down to Mateo's Featured section, guess what? He's already got some great content there. Why? Well, a video about why he loves working in pediatric cardiology was previously uploaded to his About section, and as you can see, now it's automatically pinned to the Featured section. Now, Mateo has two more awesome media pieces he's eager to highlight. Let's walk through how he'll pin them to his Featured section. First, he'll click the plus on the top right to add a new piece of content. Next, he'll scroll down and select Media because he's going to be uploading a PowerPoint. Mateo recently presented a case study in pediatric cardiology at a conference and wants to feature it here. He'll find the PowerPoint that he's saved to his computer and select it. The Add media window will pop up, displaying an auto-generated thumbnail image for his PowerPoint. First, Mateo has the ability to customize the title at the top. He'll add the title of the presentation, Project Heartbeat: Enhancing Pediatric Cardiac Care. Next, it's time for the description. He'll write something like, Learn more about how we are innovating and building new practices in pediatric cardiac care. Then he'll click Save and ta-da. His PowerPoint is now front and center in the Featured section, ready to Inspire. Mateo has one last media gem to add: an article he wrote on LinkedIn about pediatric cardiac care. Here's how he'll add it. First, he'll click the plus sign in the Featured section. Next, he'll select Add an article. A window will pop up showing all the articles he's published on LinkedIn. Since he's only got one, it's the highlight. He'll click the Star feature button on the bottom left to pin it in the Featured section. As he makes his changes, his profile will update live in the background. Then he'll click the X in the top right. Ta-da. That article is now proudly pinned in his Featured section. Now, what if Mateo wants to switch up the order of his featured content? No problem. It's super easy. He'll click the pencil on the top right to edit, then select the Reorder icon arrows in the upper right corner. The Reorder menu will pop up. In Mateo's case, he wants the video to take the spotlight first, followed by the article, and then the PowerPoint. So he'll select the horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the media content he wants to move. And then, drag them into place in the order he prefers. As he adjusts his content, his profile will update realtime in the background. Once he's happy, he will click the X in the top right. And there you go. As you can see, Mateo's proudest work is perfectly arranged in his Featured section, just the way he wants it. Great job, Mateo.
