Boot Raspberry Pi for the first time
- Now that you've installed Raspberry Pi OS, it's time to boot it for the first time. So if you flashed the OS to your SD card, first of all, you need to make sure that your Raspberry Pi is powered off. And the easiest way to do that is just to yank the cable. Now, you need to insert your SD card into the Raspberry Pi. It's tiny and fiddly. And then, you power it up again. If you use the OS customization option to configure a username and password, Raspberry Pi OS will boot directly into the desktop without prompting you for a password. If you chose a lite version of Raspberry Pi OS, Raspberry Pi OS will boot to a text mode console rather than the desktop, and you'll be prompted for a username and a password. If you're running headless, you'll need to SSH into the Raspberry Pi to interact with it. And I'll talk about that later in another video.
