"Because it's so much more helpful. When someone tells me, 'Good job.' I don't know what I did a good job at." Unfortunately, that's common. You want to be a great boss, you want to give positive feedback. This may sound strange, but a lot of people need to learn how to give positive feedback so it sticks.
