Grafana user interface overview

- [Instructor] Let's get you introduced to the Grafana user interface. Whether you're new to data visualization, or just looking to explore advanced features, Grafana makes it simple. On the left hand side, you'll notice the side menu. This is your central access point for everything in Grafana. You can collapse or expand this menu to see a list of all the items. At the top, you'll see the top bar that has a lot of useful tools. The search function helps you quickly locate at resources, and the add button helps you add a new dashboard on a lateral. Dashboards are the heart of Grafana. They're made up of simple panels that come together. You can think of dashboards as your canvas. On this page, you can see how a simple dashboard looks. This is one of the dashboards we'll be using later on in the course. Every panel has a title and description so that you can understand the context at the glance. In chapter three and four, you'll learn to interact with several core dashboard components. The interface is simple and intuitive, so there's not much to say for now. In the next chapter, you'll get Grafana installed. Be sure to follow the instructions for your relevant operating system.
