- Through your product innovation process, and especially in the Preparation and Discovery Phase, product leaders must be Human-Centered and Data-Centered. These components should be used as frameworks. It requires both empathy and strategy throughout the entire innovation process. Design thinking is rooted in Human-Centered design. It means relying on empathy, a deep understanding of the people you are designing for, to drive product innovation that people love. Many product leaders are already heavily engaged with the users. They already understand and empathize with their needs. But what about the other stakeholders in product innovation? The product innovation process requires involvement and buy-in from many different stakeholders, both internally and externally. In the downloads for this course I provide an Empathy Map template.
