Isolating footage with masks
- Isolating elements using masks is a crucial step before keying, especially when dealing with complex or intricate objects. Masks provide a precise way to define the area that you want to keep or modify, ensuring that the key process focuses on the intended subject without affecting the rest of the scene. Let's go ahead and open the sequence named 2.1 Isolating footage with masks. And this is the same clip that we were working with before and this is going to be very similar to what we did in movie 1.5, except we're going to use more than one mask. So I'm going to mask the boy somewhere around here. So under opacity here in the effect controls panel, I'm going to grab the pen tool and I'm just going to click and drag and click and drag creating these curves. I'm not going to worry about the moving hand right now. And there you go. So without worrying about the moving hand, I'm going to lower these here. Let's see…
