- How was that exercise for you? When I run a story mapping session with teams, they often admit they actually had fun doing the planning work. That's so different to the experience that people have with most project planning activities. Here's a look at the story map we came up with in the group I was working with for this example exercise. I'm purposefully not showing you masses of detail because that doesn't really matter here. What our team chose is their must have versus nice-to-have features. It won't matter to you because by this point in the process, it's likely that our team and yours have diverged quite considerably. Instead, what is important is that you manage to create a prioritized list of capabilities that you can use to create a backlog or enter into whatever other project management and tracking tool you use.
