Understanding the Factory I/O scene, part 1: Entry conveyor and light array
- This scene consists of three conveyors, an entry conveyor and right and left conveyors. There is a chain transfer in the middle that connects the three conveyors together, looking like this in general. Each conveyor has couple of sensors and actuators, meaning inputs and outputs. Here are the tags for the first conveyor. We have an emitter, a light array sensor and the entry conveyor output. The emitter is used to emit items into the scene. For our case, we have boxes. The emitter comes with different options for configuration. I can click on the emitter here and then right click and you can see the options here. I'm going to keep the same settings. Note that the maximum and minimum time are equal. This ensures a constant emission intervals for the boxes. There are four types of boxes, as you can see listed here. To select the parts to be emitted, click on part to emit. For this scene I chose to emit these boxes.…
