- [Instructor] In this movie I'll show you how to create and use arbitrary maps which are a variation on gradient maps that you apply using a curves adjustment layer and they allow you to create psychedelic effects like this one right here if that kind of thing appeals to you. All right. So I'll go ahead and switch over to my image thus far and I'll turn off the infusion layer right there. And then I'll go out to the layer menu choose new adjustment layer and choose curves. Or if you created those custom keyboard shortcuts at the end of chapter 25, then you can press control shift M here on a PC or command shift M on the Mac M being the letter after L for levels. All right so I'll go ahead and choose a command to bring up the new layer dialogue box. And I'll call this guy ARB map because that's what they're called in the biz and click okay.
