Applying nondestructive transformations

- [Instructor] Now, perhaps the primary benefit of smart objects at least from a designer's perspective is that they allow you to apply non-destructive transformations. Meaning that you can scale and rotate and distort a smart object as many times as you want without permanently rewriting the pixels. And a demonstrate what I mean, I'll go ahead and turn all these flame layers off for the moment. And then I'll go up to the edit menu. That's going to be the Photoshop menu on the Mac, drop down into the preferences command, which is not nearly so far down the menu on the Mac, and then choose general. Or you've got that keyboard shortcut of Control + K here on a PC or Command + K on the Mac. And then notice this checkbox right here.
