Removing wide angle distortion
- Once the image is open into Adobe Photoshop, there's some great tools for fixing lens correction. Now, we already fixed the basic lens correction on the initial image by using the Lens Correction tab, but once the images are merged together, just by the very nature of panning the camera over such a large area, you might see some curvature at the edges. This is going to make it easy to fix. So let me show you what we can do. The first thing I'm going to apply is a filter called adaptive wide angle. This will attempt to curve the image a bit more and further fix some of the problems. Notice it loaded in the panoramic correctional already. We could adjust the scale here as needed, and it really did an amazing job. Look at how it fixed some of these straight lines and effectively bent the image to simulate the wider angle field of view.
