Applying adjustment layers to multiple layers
- [Instructor] As you begin to work with more layers in Photoshop, you're going to want to learn how to control which layers are being affected by an adjustment layer. In this document, we can see that we have a number of different artifacts and each artifact is on its own layer. Each layer also has this fx icon. We haven't talked about layer effects, but the effects actually adds a drop shadow so that it makes it look like the artifact is on the background. All right, I'll just close that for now. If I want to add an adjustment layer that affects all of the layers below it, all I need to do is target the adjustment layer on the top that I want to affect and add the adjustment layer so that it's above it. At the bottom of the layers panel, I will choose to add a hue and saturation adjustment layer and then I'll use the onscreen controls in order to desaturate the yellows and oranges in the fossil.
