What you should know before watching this course

- [Instructor] This is a practical course. And during this course, we'll be using the Kali Linux-based tools to do testing. We'll be testing against web applications in the offensive security and Hack The Box online penetration testing labs. Together, these provide a range of sophisticated web-based applications for us to test. Where possible, we'll use the free subscription targets in these labs, but some of the more complex targets will be in the main labs. We'll also be using the OWASP Utility Dive Vulnerable Web Application, which we can run on our local test network. You should be competent in Windows and Unix host technologies, as well as having a good grasp of network protocols. A good understanding of HTTP would be an advantage. You'll need to have a good working knowledge of Kali and some hands-on experience of testing. You should have a working knowledge of web testing tools, in particular, Burp Suite, and you should have taken the Ethical Hacking: Web Servers and Applications course. You should have a basic knowledge of scripting languages, such as PHP and Python. You should be able to install third-party tools and applications that we'll use in our testing.
