Simple methods for creating patterns
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to cover simple methods and creative workflows that will make creating repeat pattern designs easier and more precise. So let's get started. Now, if you want to trim your tile, then that's the easiest of all patterns. So if we take this, and I'm just going to go ahead and copy it, Command + C, Command + F, and I'll move it over to the right and I have smart guides turned on. So if I hover over this anchor and snap it to this side, you can see that it will seamlessly repeat to the right. This also applies if it's on the top or on the bottom, and it'll seamlessly repeat. So this is the easiest way, in my opinion, to create a pattern. All you need to do is select it, go to object, go to pattern, and go make. Again, you don't have to touch anything because the repeat is already creating itself and you just have to name it. So in terms of this pattern, I'll just name it Navajo, like that.
