- [Instructor] Outlook has settings that control how search works. I want you to know where they are in case you wish to adjust them. So to get to these settings, click Settings anywhere. Search settings are General settings, so you choose General, then Search. Remember that I noted that when I search from the inbox, by default, I'm searching all folders, the entire mailbox, which is wonderful. But if I want to have the same behavior for all of my folders, I have two options. One is to say that no matter where I search from, I'm searching all folders. If you use folders, this means you will often, by default, be clicking that drop-down and choosing the folder you're in. And the other option is always to search the current folder only, which means if you're searching the inbox or anywhere and you want to search all folders, you'd need to choose that, as well.
