(soft music) - [Instructor] Welcome back. This lesson is on the Virtual Cloud Network Service Gateway. And the Service Gateway is a very special gateway. It does not connect your resources, your instances on a Virtual Cloud Network to the internet. It bypasses the internet. Yes, it bypasses the internet. The Service Gateway, the whole purpose of it is to connect the resources in your tenancy to the Oracle Services Network. So let's go ahead and define what the Oracle Services Network is. It is an OCI resource where public-facing services such as object storage, the Autonomous Data Warehouse, Digital Assistant. These are all resources that have a public IT address and are available to anybody that has a public IP. They are in the open internet, accessible through the open internet. So resources on your Virtual Cloud Network can access them through the Service Gateway bypassing the internet.
