Create a notebook stored in OneDrive

- [Instructor] You might be new to note-taking with OneNote. And if you are, and you've just launched the OneNote for Windows 10 app, you'll have a notebook to get you started with taking notes. And in the upper left corner is where you'll find the name of that notebook. Now, depending on the type of account you're logged in with will be the name of the notebook that you have here. I'm logged in as Jennifer Dawson, and Jennifer Dawson works for Landon Hotel. And that is the name of the notebook that we see here. If you're logged in with either a school or a personal account, the name for your default notebook may vary. Now, I have many sections here of notes that I've been taking. And at some point, you may decide that you want to have a separate notebook for those types of notes. That could be something by timeline, maybe a year of projects that you're working on, or based on your school studies, or the types of personal notes that you're taking to manage your family's sports, and schooling, and medical, and anything else that you might be managing. And I'd like to show you how you can create a new notebook. We're going to select the downward facing arrow next to the notebook name, go to the bottom of the pane, and select Add notebook. Next, let's give the notebook a name. For this one, I'm going to call it "Landon Hotel 2022 Projects." Then press Enter or select Create Notebook. The notebook that has just been created is now displayed, and is open for taking notes. You'll notice up here, it now says "Landon Hotel 2022 Projects." This notebook that was created was saved in the OneDrive document library that's associated with this Microsoft account. Now. I have that open in a browser window, so let's go ahead and minimize this app. And here we are in OneDrive. Now, reviewing the My Files area, that is the main directory of all of your files. And you'll notice that I do have some folders, so you can give structure with folders for organizing all sorts of files, including your OneNote notebooks. You'll notice there is a Notebooks folder here. Let's go ahead and refresh this page to make sure that we're seeing the latest files that have been created. And now let's scroll down this main level listing of the files, and here is the new notebook that was just created. So it saves it in this main level. Of course, we could move it into that Notebooks folder. It really just depends on what makes sense to you for organizing all of the different files that you have here. Now, notebooks can also be created directly from this OneDrive app. You'll notice at the top, there's a New button here on the toolbar. And if I select it, one of the choices is to create a OneNote notebook. It's a similar process. If we were to select this, we would give the notebook a name, and it would save it in the OneDrive document library. It's a matter of where you're working. If you're already here in OneDrive, create your notebook here. If you have OneNote for Windows 10 open, or another app, such as OneNote for the web, create your notebook there.
