What is inclusive or universal design?

- One of the hottest topics in website and mobile app development today is that of accessibility. We want to be sure our websites and apps work for everyone, regardless of disability, like blindness or vision issues, deafness, mobility issues, and more. Accessibility has been discussed since the beginning of the web. However, just recently, the conversation has shifted to that of inclusive design. What is inclusive design? The Inclusive Design Research Centre at the Ontario College of Art and Design University defines inclusive design as design that considers the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age, and other forms of human difference. This means that instead of offering separate services that have accessibility components, we should strive instead for a single solution that serves as many people as possible.
