- [Instructor] In this demo, we are going to scale an EC2 auto scaling group based on CPU usage. When CPU usage goes up, we are going to add another instance and when it goes down we are going to remove them. and we are going to do this using CloudWatch alarm. In order to autoscale, first we need to create a new auto scaling group. In the EC2 dashboard, scroll to the bottom and then select auto scaling groups. In here, go ahead and create a new auto scaling group. Let's give it a name. Let's do scalingdemo. And next, we need to choose a launch template. I already have one, but let's go ahead and show you how you can create a new one. You can create new launch template. Let's give it a name. Let's name it simplegroup. Next, let's go ahead and uncheck the box here for auto scaling guidance. And let's go ahead and select an OS image. In here, select Quick Start.
