Understanding migration and testing

- [Instructor] The goal of the migration plan is to lead the migration efforts at a high level. This includes managing the scope, the scheduling, resource planning, and any issues that might come up, as well as the communication between teams. The migration plan considers critical factors such as the order in which workloads should be migrated, tracking the progress, and when resources are required. The migration plan activities generally include project management methods, determining which migration tool to use, how will the teams communicate with one another, any risk assessment, as well as roles and responsibilities, and the outlining of the timeline and cost. Part of the technical planning aspect of the migration plan is setting up a small team to complete deep analysis and prioritize the application portfolio, thereby building out a backlog of two to three weeks of migration sprints.
