- [Instructor] So we're finally ready to get into the portion of the course where we start migrating virtual machines from VMware to Hyper-V and before you perform a real- world migration, I highly recommend checking out the documentation, which is available at the link shown on the slide. There are also a few migration limitations that you need to be aware of. For starters, you can't migrate VMware workstations. That's simply not supported. You also can't migrate VMware virtual machines that have virtual hard disks that use an IDE bus. You'll need to convert those virtual machines so that they use an iSCSI bus before you'll be able to migrate them. Also, you'll need to remove the VMware tools before you begin the migration. Now, if you forget to remove the VMware tools, you will still be able to migrate the virtual machine.
