Defining the Virtual Machine Manager requirements
- [Instructor] In the next portion of this course, I'm going to be deploying System Center Virtual Machine Manager. Now, once again, System Center Virtual Machine Manager is a management tool for Hyper-V, and to a lesser extent, it can also be used to manage VMware, and it's also the tool that we're going to be using to perform the VMware to Hyper-V migration. Now, System Center Virtual Machine Manager is not included with Hyper-V. It's a part of Microsoft System Center Suite and it has to be licensed separately. Now, before I get into the deployment process, I want to go over some of the requirements for deploying System Center Virtual Machine Manager. So at a minimum, the server that's going to be hosting System Center Virtual Machine Manager is going to need an 8-core Pentium processor running at 2 gigahertz or higher. And Microsoft recommends that you have a CPU with at least 16-cores running at 2.66 gigahertz or higher. At a minimum, you're going to need 4 gigabytes of RAM, with…
