Simplify importing with a map

- Hi, Bonnie Beafore here. Say you get Excel spreadsheets from team leads with task info you need to get into Project. You can speed up importing data by saving a map that matches columns in an import file to project fields. So on the file tab, I'm going to click open and then click browse. The open dialog box is looking for project files. So the first thing I have to do is click the down arrow and choose Excel workbook. Then when I see my import file, I can select it and click open. That starts up the Import Wizard. I'm going to click next. It selects new map, which is what I want. So we're going to click next again. You can import the file as a new project. You can append the data in the file to the active project. Or you could even merge the data into the active project. But in this case, we're going to keep it simple and just import as a new project.
