Find summary tasks with dependencies

- [Bonnie] Hi, Bonnie Biafore here. One Project scheduling best practice is that most tasks should have at least one predecessor and one successor with a few exceptions. In this tip, I'll show you how to filter a task list to find tasks without dependencies. We're going to start in this project by turning off the Project Summary Task and the Other Summary Tasks. That's because work tasks are the ones that should have the task dependencies. I'm going to head to the Format tab and in the Show/Hide section over on the right, turn off Project Summary Task and Summary Tasks. Now I have all of my work tasks. The next thing to do is to create a filter to find the tasks without dependencies. I'm going to go to the View tab and then in the Data section, click the down arrow to the right of No Filter. On the dropdown menu, choose New Filter to open up the Filter Definition dialog box. Now I'm going to call this filter C_nolinks. I like to put in the C_ so it's easy to see which filters are…
